Temperature flap actuator (V158) or G220

Hi everyone,

I'm currently experiencing an issue where the aforementioned actuator motor in my Passat is no longer finding its correct value and is constantly adjusting, resulting in a noisy sound inside the dashboard.

Approximately nine months ago, the V158 occasionally reported errors in the error memory. After re-pairing, it worked correctly for about six months, but now it's showing errors again (of course, with constant engine adjustments).


"The car will be going to the workshop soon to have the problem fixed under warranty. However, I'm now wondering if they should replace the second actuator motor at the same time. According to VW, that part costs about €108... That's a lot of money to replace something just based on suspicion..."


I've attached two diagrams (sorry for the photo – I can't seem to find the original file). To me, the G221 looks perfectly fine; a little adjustment is allowed, and it reaches the final values immediately without any fluctuations.

What do the experts say? Should you invest the extra €110 or hope that he doesn't give up?

The sun is shining brightly and warmly. The birds are chirping happily in the trees. A gentle breeze is blowing through the grass. It's a beautiful day.

It's really annoying when the servo motor constantly oscillates around its target value.
Re-calibrating the end stops no longer helps.
The log shows a similar picture to what you're seeing with your V158.

Could you please post the part number for the stepper motor here?
I want to change it myself. The right side is also easier than the left.
