Hello,
My car has been chipped for over 100,000 kilometers, but I've only just gotten around to using VAG-COM to read the error codes.

There's an issue related to G71, but it only occurs when I fully depress the pedal (high boost pressure).

Is that normal?
I lowered the highest values in the boost pressure map from FF to FE, but I'm still getting the error.

My theoretical explanation is that the increased values in the boost pressure map are too high for the pressure sensor, and therefore, a short circuit is detected, leading to a connection with the Ub (likely referring to a ground or reference voltage).

Here's a log file with everything running at full speed.

Can someone explain the differences between MAP, specified MAP, and actual MAP in this context?

What changes are made with the well-known boost pressure map?

The explanation here http://www.********.com/content/htmlpage.php?name=kennfelder is not particularly informative icon_cry.gif.

Hello,

Are you sure you changed the boost pressure map and not something else? The maximum target value of ~1.05 bar seems a bit low to me.
Your recorded target boost pressure values should have decreased after your map modification.

You logged two measurement blocks with VAGCom.

In block 10, the 'MAP' parameter represents the 'actual value' of 'boost pressure'.
In Block 11, "specified MAP" refers to "target manifold absolute pressure," while "actual MAP" refers to "actual manifold absolute pressure."

If in doubt, this will help you:http://dict.leo.org/?lang=de

I suspect the problem is less likely to be in the original version of your chip and more likely to be in the wiring of the boost pressure sensor or in the boost pressure sensor itself.

Best regards, Rainer.

Yes, of course. There's only one field that looks like that.

I find the maximum target value of ~1.05 bar a little low.
The aforementioned field may not directly affect the target values, but rather some feedback values from the sensor. Unfortunately, I'm getting very little information about it. I have read out 3 different chip variants, and this field was always modified. ******** does this too, after all icon_smile.gif.

You have logged measurement blocks with VAGCom 2,
That's correct, and that's why I thought the current boost pressure in the two measurement blocks should be the same. But the timestamps of the two blocks are also different. That explains a lot icon_smile.gif.

Wiring of the boost pressure sensor
It's unlikely; it's located directly within the control unit.
