I'm installing a diesel engine (ARL) into an Audi TT 8N and I'm currently working on the exhaust system. The system shouldn't be too loud, ideally the same volume as the stock exhaust. I'll be using the downpipe with the catalytic converter from the ARL engine. After the catalytic converter, I have three options. Which option makes the most sense? Considering the amount of work involved, I would prefer the 1.8T exhaust system. How does it look in terms of performance?
1. Complete ARL exhaust system. This will require me to close off both cutouts on the bumper for the exhaust tips.
2. 1.8T 225 HP exhaust system. Includes mid-section (MSD) and end silencer (ESD). Diameter: Up to the MSD 65 mm, after the MSD 60 mm.
3. 3.2-liter V6 exhaust system with valve control, where the valve control would not be active. Includes mid-section (MSD) and end silencer (ESD). Diameter: up to the MSD 65 mm, after the MSD 60 mm.
Currently, it's a series production model. I'm not doing anything beyond that. I doubt you can achieve more than, say, 170 horsepower with standard components.
