Hello.

I'm currently dismantling a Golf 4 ARL and will be installing the engine in my TT 8N. The large ARL intercooler doesn't fit in the TT. The easiest solution would be to convert to an ASZ intercooler. Alternatively, there's also the 1.8T 225 HP version with two intercoolers, but the volume and pipe length are significantly greater compared to the ASZ option. For me, the ASZ option is more convenient and simpler.
Therefore, the question arises whether it makes sense to use the second level of torque amplification (LLK). The engine will receive new software. Otherwise, everything remains standard.

Regards,

Paul.

Hello Paul,

I have removed the image for legal reasons. On the 225 hp 1.8T models, there are intercoolers on both the left and right sides of the wheel wells, while the ARL models only have one large intercooler located in the center at the front.

A single auxiliary liquid cooler (ALC) is definitely not sufficient for the automatic level control (ALC) system; the solution with two ALCs is necessary if the car is to function properly in above-freezing temperatures.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,

Thank you for the response.

There definitely won't be an OEM solution for the ARL (turbocharger) that allows the coolant hose to go 'upwards,' will there? On the TT, the inlet side of the intercooler is located at the top. Are there possibly any adapters available to switch from the quick-release coupling on the turbocharger to a standard connection with a clamp?

Regards,

Paul.
