Hello everyone,
I had been experiencing a noise coming from the steering for quite some time. It was particularly noticeable when turning left, and later also when turning in both directions.
It sounded a bit like a cow

, "Moo," but not as loud. In the winter, it would sometimes disappear, but it got worse when it got warmer. Once, it blocked the steering while maneuvering, when I had turned sharply to the left.
I checked the power steering fluid, and everything is okay. I searched online, but didn't find anything specific.
I had considered replacing the power steering pump, but I didn't do it because I was unsure. That was a good decision.
Ultimately, it turned out that a ball joint in the steering linkage was defective.
Since this part was replaced, the noise has gone away. It's been about 6 weeks now, so I'm pretty sure it was related to that.
I can't really explain it, maybe it was very difficult to operate.
Perhaps this will be helpful to someone someday. As I said, I couldn't find anything about this connection in the search function.
Best regards,
Jörg.
