Grinding noise at the rear axle
Cause:
Water ingress through the wave seal ring into the wheel bearing leads to corrosion and damage/destruction of the bearings.
Solution:
In case of complaints, the entire axle bearing must be replaced. For this purpose, part number 6K9 598 625 is available.
Before installing the brake drum, the new crankshaft seal must be greased (Grease: No. G 052 735 A2) to be filled.
Additionally, a small amount of grease (approximately 3 to 4 mm) should be applied around the sealing lip, which rests on the crankshaft flange. Tschüss
