Hi,
I am hoping for assistance/need the torque specifications for a 2.0L TDI 4V 170 HP BMN or BMR engine.
As far as I can recall, the following torque values apply:
The (M6) screws of the pump nozzle elements are tightened with 3 Nm + 90 degrees + 180 degrees,
The five screws of the PD tilting lever shaft are tightened to 20 NM + 90 degrees.
I request confirmation, and if necessary, correction of other torque values.
Upon request, in February, at the VW dealership, I inquired about a PD recall campaign for my Passat 3C, but it was denied. Today, I am exactly experiencing this same problem, and I am stranded on vacation, far from the repair instructions...
Engine died, the pre-heating coil is lit, with the instruction to contact the friendly mechanic.
Removed the valve cover and disconnected the PD-E connectors one by one, starting with the 4th PD-E. Zylinders is the culprit.
And the worst part is that the faulty 03G 130 073 M PD-E's, which are affected by the recall campaign, are installed. Grrrrr, I'm so angry.
I have already obtained all the necessary tools, including new screws, and also 2 x PD-E's in the wheel arch, so I now only need the correct torque values and the return journey is secured.
Thank you.
Jürgen Bye

Okay, so far so good.
Adjusting screw, swing lever, turn back 180° from the stop.
Tighten the counter nut with 30 Nm. |

Keep the old part.
The promotion was supposedly discontinued due to poor parts availability...
Even though I don't believe it, maybe she might come back again.
With a bit of luck, you might be able to get the old part written off. |

Hi,
Regarding the availability of the parts, I can only confirm this.
Not even one of the required screws is in stock anymore....
I wanted to stockpile this, but another PD-E had to say goodbye.
Just inquired at my local Skoda dealer about the new screw campaign, and it is still active.
Since BMN and BMR are essentially the same, except for the balancing wave module, I don't care that BMN screws from Audi/Skoda/... are used in the Passat BMR.
@ ICeYmx
Thank you, I will get started right away.
