Hello,
Engine has full power, fuel consumption according to the MFA is 12-13 liters, significant white smoke when idling and under load.

Have the PDE checked by a Bosch service center - everything is okay.
Newly hired, still smoking.
CO test of the cooling system: Purple discoloration indicates the presence of CO in the cooling system.
AGRICULTURE: Radiator pressure tested, OK.
Cylinder head removed.
Zyl.Dtg. Sure, here's the translation:

'I.O.' translates to 'Input/Output'. It refers to the flow of data between a computer system and its peripherals or other systems.
Cracks between the exhaust valves and injector sleeves on all cylinders.

My question is whether the cracks are the cause, as I have no information about this issue in relation to the 1.9 PD version, unlike with the 2.0 PD version.

What do the pistons look like? In a "water pump," the relevant piston is usually very shiny and clean.

Otherwise, if it's certain that coolant has entered the combustion chambers (which is rare with a 1.9 TDI and a defective head gasket), I would have the head gasket professionally resurfaced. (Unfortunately, the head gasket has already been removed; otherwise, the culprit could have been identified using a camera.)

Genau das ist mein Problem. An den Kolben und den Ventilen ist nichts zu erkennen. Der einzige Unterschied ist eine dicke weiche Ölkruste im Auslaßkanal des 4. ZCylinders.
As you mentioned, it's probably best to have the cylinder head removed and inspected, as these kinds of problems are not typical for the 1.9 engine.
Thank you again for the response.

I can't say for sure. It happened suddenly while the vehicle was in towing mode. Continuing to drive was not possible due to the smoke. As I mentioned, the engine sounded a bit rough, which is why the fuel injectors were checked by the Bosch service. After installing and adjusting the fuel injectors, the engine sounded healthy again, but it still smoked heavily. The CO test of the cooling system was positive. What I noticed today was the added coolant drain plug at the rear of the cylinder head. It could be the cause of the cracked head. I've built another device to pressurize the system and will leave the head under pressure until tomorrow morning.
From your question, I gather that you might have another idea in mind.

More likely a confirmation of the positive CO2 test in the cooling circuit, because white smoke, as far as I know, indicates an (excessively) high water content in the exhaust gases - i.e., water vapor, although diesel exhaust is usually "dry" due to the excess air.
The most likely source of an abnormally high water content in the exhaust gases is the cooling system.
