Good evening, Guste.
First of all, thank you for your reply.
Connect the ESP fuel return line to an external 12V fuel pump using a clear hose, and ensure the fuel supply line to the ESP is always filled with fuel. Then, prime the system by drawing fuel until no more air bubbles appear in the return line.
2. Yes, there was a good amount of fuel coming out of the injectors when the fuel line was open (I tested this today with cylinders 1 and 2).
I'll take care of cylinders 3 and 4 tomorrow as well.
Okay, I'll also seal the fuel filler neck with a cloth and then carefully apply compressed air to the fuel line to see if any diesel leaks out at the filter. (I read about this in another forum.)
Let's see how it goes tomorrow.
Everything was fine before my "cleaning process." I also strongly suspect that after such a long period of inactivity (2-3 weeks), all the pipes are now empty.
I will provide further updates.
Thank you very much and best regards.
Claudy.

How did you bleed the fuel injection pump?
Does diesel fuel leak out near the injector nozzles when you loosen the retaining nuts? (Wrap a cloth around them. Be careful, as there is high pressure that can literally penetrate the skin.)
Greetings.
