Opel Movano EGR Valve: Disable Test (2002)

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if it's as straightforward as it is with a VAG Euro 3?
I'm having a problem with a stuck (open) EGR valve that has caused my car to be immobilized.
It wouldn't start anymore. The preheating light was constantly on.
Error read: EGR valve open.

Hi Jörg,

Ideally, start by test-fitting a piece of copper sheet or something similar as a sandwich with two gaskets. If the car then runs, install a new EGR valve; otherwise, something else is broken that's causing it not to run.

Fortunately, it suddenly started working again, and the preheating light remained off.
I would like to understand how the error is generated, specifically how the control unit detects if the EGR valve is constantly open.
I'll see if I can remove the entire EGR system.
Just today, I discovered that we have an ultrasonic cleaning device at the company. I'm going to verschandeln the AGR first. However, I tend to give up immediately when problems arise . I really don't feel like tinkering with this thing again.

The screws that attach the return pipe to the EGR housing were so tight that I was afraid I would break them off.
With the AGR (Abgasrückführung), you can remove a component that is secured with three screws.
I see two screws and I might be able to remove them somehow, but I can't even see the third one.
I've approached the issue with a more optimistic perspective this time, focusing on the simplest and most cost-effective solutions first.
I found a damaged wiring harness. Since the problem first occurred after a drive through heavy rain, I sealed the wiring harness with electrical tape and cable ties.
Maybe I'll get lucky...
