Hi,
Is there any information available on how the engine control unit (ECU) determines oil ash values?
The background is that I have been reading a value of 0.05 for "ash volume" in measurement block 104 for the past nearly 10,000 kilometers on my Audi A6 4F with engine code CANA. Under unchanged driving conditions (mostly highway, little city driving), and with a decreasing fuel consumption, this value has suddenly jumped to 0.1.
Is this normal, or should the increase be more 'steady'?
Best regards from Berlin,

Hmmm...
If the maximum ash volume for the container is 360ml, it would be quite disappointing if only a resolution of 3 bits, which translates to 50ml, were possible.
But well, it's just the 21st century .
