I would like to retrofit the ThermoTop VEVO, but I have read that it is not possible with this engine. Does anyone have any experience with this?

That was the initial question. The answer is :Doh, it is possible to retrofit it. The company Webasto has explicit installation documentation for the B7 model with the CAYC.
The next question was about what materials are needed. These are:
Heater, vehicle-specific installation kit, and an additional wiring harness for models with Climatronic, plus a control unit. You would have the choice between a programmable interior clock, the T91 remote control, the T100 remote control with display, and control via smartphone. The system is called Thermocall.
You can find information about the features and prices of the individual controls online. Going into detail about that would be too extensive for this context.
For the heating units compatible with this installation kit, you can choose between the TT EVO 4 or the TT EVO 5. Not the TT-V. We'll come back to that later.
The installation time is stated as 9 hours. That's quite a significant amount of time.
"Using MFA (Multi-Function Display) for control is not possible with an aftermarket solution. This would only be possible if you already have a supplementary heater and are upgrading it to a parking heater. To clarify this, I wanted to check the part number. It might also work if you retrofit an original VW heater to the car."
The Climatronic system is integrated into this solution.
Eberspächer doesn't have a specific installation recommendation for the CAYC.D engine, but they do have recommendations for other engines within the same model series. However, there isn't a separate recommendation for every engine code. This has always been the case. I would say that you can have a properly installed Eberspächer heater installed there, just like you would with other engines.
Now, let's get to what you want. The TT-V. I didn't even know they made it as an Evo now. But that's not important.
The TT-V is a heater that Webasto does not sell for retrofitting or repairs. It is only intended for original equipment (OE) applications. For example, the excellent auxiliary heater found in the Touran comes from this series. This means that you must purchase all parts for this heater, or for any later repairs, from VW, not from Webasto. Webasto will immediately refuse to provide service if they determine it is an OE heater.
You'll need a VW installation guide for that, not a Webasto one. You'll need to check with the car dealership to see if it's even possible.
I can't send you the Webasto installation instructions because of the copyright on the document. Please ask your Webasto contact. You probably won't be installing it yourself. Otherwise, the document usually comes with the vehicle-specific wiring harness.
Then there's the diagnosis/unlocking: For OE retrofitting, if possible, or upgrading an existing auxiliary heater via OBD. With Eberspächer retrofitting, this can be done through certain control elements. And with Webasto retrofitting, it's not easily possible without additional equipment. You'll need a special adapter and software for that.
