Since this morning, the reverse gear on my Golf 4 1.9 TDI Tiptronic no longer works. You can briefly notice that it's a bit jerky, like when he's putting it in or something, but then it's just idling.
Through Google, I've seen that there could be issues with the solenoid valve, cold solder joint, or a completely failed component. The error memory is empty. What I notice is that whenever I read out the data blocks, errors keep appearing, and it says that the blocks are not available. If I click on "Start", they reappear briefly and then disappear again.
How can I best start the troubleshooting process without immediately contacting the transmission manufacturer?
He doesn't put the car in gear, and if I'm in "R", I can push the car around like it's in neutral.
Which metric blocks might provide you with some insights?
