Fuel Gauge Issues: Octavia III 2.0 TDI Range Problem

"Like many others in the Octavia/Skoda forum, I am experiencing problems with the fuel level sensor or range indicator on my Octavia III 2.0 TDI."


In short:
The vehicle has a 50-liter fuel tank. If you drive it until the range indicator shows 0 km with an average fuel consumption of 4.5 liters, you can typically add approximately 42-43 liters to refill the tank. The combination instrument includes an adjustment channel for the fuel level sensor, but accessing it requires a login code, which I would like to know.

I once had some fun and filled the tank with 15 liters of fuel remaining, marking every 5 liters. (See log). The fuel gauge shows 5 liters less when the tank is empty, and at least 3 liters more when it's full.

Who has any ideas here? (besides testing the adaptation channel?)

We've encountered this problem with one or two Octavias before. I seem to recall there's a technical bulletin (TPI) about it.

Conclusion: State of the art! Safety margins, avoiding unnecessary operation, etc.

VCDS directly displays the login for the instrument cluster (IC). For each individual customization option, VCDS usually also provides suggestions. Otherwise, you can find a lot of information online by searching for terms like "VCDS," "adjust fuel gauge," etc., although not necessarily specifically related to the Octavia.

If the login option were displayed directly, I wouldn't have asked such a silly question.
I'm aware that it's state-of-the-art according to Skoda, which is why I'm not even asking about that; instead, I'm taking the initiative myself. I also know what APKs are available, but I need the login credentials. That's why I've attached an Autoscan.

Are there any other ideas? This is really annoying with the vehicle. It drinks fuel like crazy, and you only have a 44-liter tank (when you run it completely empty).
