PPD Injector Nozzles: Can They Be Replaced?

I watched the (very good) video about replacing the nozzles on PD elements. I have the following questions about it:
- Does this also apply to PPD components (2.0 TDI with 170 hp, engine code BRD)? Since I haven't found any suppliers for such kits yet, I'm starting to have doubts.
- If so: Does anyone here have the part number for such a repair kit?
- If I understood correctly (although it was vaguely worded), the disassembly of the components and the dreaded installation of the seats with this engine should no longer be a problem due to improved fit. Can anyone confirm this?
- Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Background: My car has been smoking excessively at traffic lights for some time. It hasn't been doing that for weeks, but it still smells extremely bad when idling. I initially thought it was oil, but the turbo and other components seem to be okay. It doesn't need any oil either. The smell is completely unusual (although I've only owned Audis and Golfs with 1.9L TDI engines before). It doesn't smell like oil or typical diesel soot. It's a very strong, pungent smell, and I suspect it's due to a high nitrogen oxide content. The smell enters the interior even when the car is stationary, even though all the rubber seals around the gearshift, etc., seem to be intact. There's absolutely no visible soot when driving, not even in the headlights of the car behind me. One cylinder showed a significant deviation in fuel consumption (around 2.0), but I don't have the exact data here. With over 170,000 km on the odometer, I think replacing the injectors (if possible) makes more sense than cleaning them, and it might even be cheaper.
Does anyone have similar symptoms (perhaps with a successful solution)?

Hi,

The condition of the injector nozzles is poor. Complete pump-injector units are not available for purchase from general retailers, but only from car dealerships. Unlike other PDE (Pump Denoise) injectors, this type is not manufactured by Bosch, but by Siemens. A possible solution might be the Elring zero-ring set, which is identified as part number 690.170.
However, if you're replacing the injectors with new ones, you won't need it. Those new injectors will, of course, come with new sealing rings.

Wow, that could end up being quite expensive. Are there really no nozzles available for that? So, I guess I'm stuck with just getting a nozzle cleaning then?
"Can anyone recommend a company for this? In another post, Company Meyer in Hanover was recommended, supposedly for 10 euros per injector. But I only see one offer from them on e...(-Bay) for over 50 euros per piece. It says "for Siemens-PD," but my engine (170 hp; German-made) isn't listed."
Does anyone have experience with places that offer affordable cleaning services?

"With these injectors, you can't really do anything other than cleaning. Even the reputable company Mayer states, essentially: "Testing is not (!) possible because Siemens/VDO does not provide reference data." It was much simpler with the distributor pump. Often, you could replace the nozzles on the injector for a few euros, and that often solved the problem."
