Hello.
I'm currently in the process of replacing the stabilizer links on my VW Golf 3.
"I recently purchased new clay tools from Lehmförderer, but unfortunately, I only realized after unpacking them that they are not split into two pieces and are open on one side."
Is this intentional or a manufacturing defect? Can these be cut like the originals?
Thank you for your help. Golf III TDI AHU 402Tkm

Are you sure that's the correct part? I wouldn't cut it. Otherwise, your only option is to detach the stabilizer bar from the control arm and slide the closed end through. Viele Grüße
Andreas

Hello,
Thank you for the response.
Yes, that is the correct part number.
I don't think I can postpone this; the shaft is very securely held in place up to where the bearing sits. Also, the original bearings are split into two pieces. Golf III TDI AHU 402Tkm

"These are the correct parts, and they can be installed. You need to use some force and it's a bit fiddly, but it's doable. I recently did this on a 1998 Volkswagen Golf 3 Variant." Sommer: A4 B5 Avant 2,5 TDI Quattro Facelift (AKN silber)

Hello Ruedi,
Thank you for the information.
"How exactly did you do it then? The stabilizer is quite angled, and mine is covered in rust."
Did you push the rubber first and then the metal sheet?
Thank you. Golf III TDI AHU 402Tkm

First, remove any loose flakes and lightly sand the relevant areas. Then, lubricate with grease, silicone spray, or whatever is available and provides good lubrication, and position the bearing in the desired location.
If you have Mike Sanders grease, you can use it to treat the stabilizer and protect it from rust. Viele Grüße
Andreas

Hello.
Could it be that you are referring to the tie rods?
I mean these parts:
There's no way to postpone this or to get it back in place between the engine mount and the underbody. Golf III TDI AHU 402Tkm

Then take a picture of the electronic component you want to install and upload it. Viele Grüße
