Golf IV Light Switch

Hi everyone,

My plan: Turn on the light switch or change the pin configuration on the connector as follows:

Stand Light - Nothing Happens (No Light)

Headlight + Fog Lights - Headlight ON

Headlights - Headlights on without headlights

Headlights + Fog Lights - Turn headlights on with parking lights

Does anyone have a schematic, pinout diagram, any kind of power source, or just plain nonsense comments?

If I read the list like that, then you just need to jump the indicator light to the NSW output. Nothing else.

I don't have a specific document handy, but I'm quite confident that Google offers something suitable.

You should make the conversion reversible, in order to pass the next TÜV (German technical inspection).
Should this be a replacement for daytime running lights, or a flashing hazard light switch? The latter should clearly demonstrate the offender's intent in a serious case and appropriately influence the severity of the punishment.

It shouldn't be a getaway car, but since you said that, I've noticed a mistake on my part: the indicator lights are probably just a cable connected to the switch for the front, which controls the two bulbs, and the rear indicator lights + license plate light?

If the indicator light goes out, then the brake light also goes out, right? I dismiss the concerns that have been raised regarding the upcoming inspection.

Purely speculative: If the goal is a daytime running light solution without additional lights, I would suggest the term "Scandinavian circuit". In some vehicles, this was achieved by installing a cable or wire bridge on the fuse or relay carrier, while in others, it was done through programming.

Furthermore, you can activate the headlights when the switch is in position 0 using a simple jumper, as suggested by Huti (a jumper between pin 56 and TFL). See also here: http://forum.auto-steuerung.de/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=164&start=165 third post.)
