Hello, hello!
Mein Name ist Alexander, ich bin 35 Jahre alt und fahren den o.g. Car.
After nine years, it seems like it's time to replace the battery.
My question is, since I don't own a diagnostic tool (am I still eligible?), whether the battery in this model can simply be replaced, or if it needs to be registered.
It's the standard Bluemotion model, not the Bluemotion Technology version, so it doesn't have features like start/stop functionality, regenerative braking, or a special battery.
Thank you in advance!
Alexander.

Hello Alexander,
It is sufficient to install a battery with the same technology, capacity, and starting current as the one that was previously installed.

The vehicle's body control module (BCM) only needs to be reprogrammed when switching to a different battery technology or capacity, see:

Hello Rainer,
Thank you very much!
But that would mean that if I don't want to program anything, I have to remove a battery from a VW somewhere to get an exact replacement, right?
What would happen if I installed a different one, but the replacement part wouldn't arrive for a few days?
Alexander.

You can install any battery with more or less the same capacity. This is not a problem.

Hi!
Now, I need to ask again:
Can I install a battery with 77Ah and 770A cold cranking current without needing to reprogram anything, considering the original battery has 72Ah and 680A cold cranking current?
Thank you in advance!
Alexander.

There is nothing that needs or can be coded, your vehicle does not have a battery management control unit (STG) or anything similar. MfG. Michael
