Hello and greetings...
"I've been dealing with this issue for a long time. Out of the blue, my parking sensors stopped working. When I put the car in reverse, there's a beeping sound for about 4 seconds, and the regular image from the rearview camera appears for the same amount of time, but then it disappears and the screen goes black. And the entire parking sensor system no longer functions. I can reproduce this problem repeatedly. The camera turns on, but then immediately turns off again."
I read the codes with VCDS, but I'm just not able to figure out what's going on with these errors. One error might be causing the others.
The first and simplest solution would be to replace all the sensors at the front, but I find that odd, because otherwise the scan should show the exact defective sensor.
I hope you can understand me; please find a freshly scanned image attached.
Thank you.

Hi,
The error is quite clear.
Quote: | 02069 - Sensor for front parking assistance.
011 - Interruption
...
01625 - Warning sound for front parking assist system (H22).
009 - Short circuit to ground - |
First, there's a faulty ultrasonic sensor located in the front bumper or its wiring. Additionally, the warning buzzer for the parking distance control (PDC) has a loose connection or is defective.
Best regards, Rainer.

I didn't interpret the term "interruption" as meaning a defect. Also, in other posts, the specific sensor that is broken is always mentioned, e.g., "middle, front, right." In my case, it only says "front." Should I replace all 6? Or should I buy one and then use a process of elimination?
Does "warning buzzer" refer to the "speaker" that produces the beeping sounds?
Thank you for the quick response.

How can I identify a faulty cable? With a simple continuity test? I think that will be difficult because the connectors in the control unit are so complicated.
Thank you for the answers.

Usually, the component itself is defective. In this case, it's the warning buzzer.

I've also experienced this issue before, where the exact sensor isn't displayed in the diagnostic information. It often depends on the parking distance control (PDC) module and its design/software.
But...
You can feel the defective parking sensor.
If, during the 4-second beep, you apply very slight pressure...
By placing a finger on the sensor surface, you can...
- vibration detected -> sensor OK.
- no sensation detected -> sensor malfunction.
It's easiest to go with two people, as you don't have to perform that awkward dance around the car within the 4-second time limit.
Good luck.
Regards, Mpire.

Thank you, I was really smiling while reading your post! I just imagined myself running around the car !
Where are the warning alarms located for the front area?
Okay, has anyone here had experience with the really cheap sensors that cost around 10€? The "friendly" option costs 90€.
Thank you.

Now you've received a tip. Otherwise, measure each wire individually. And inspect the relevant cable bundles. Diligence is a virtue for anyone who likes to tinker.
