Hello, I drive a Golf 4 TDI with a standard 110 horsepower engine.
I've had the car for 7 years now, and it has 207,000 km on the odometer.
However, I only use it as a summer car (I drive about 3000 km per year).
I installed an upgraded intercooler a year ago, and the car was chipped about 1000 km ago (manufactured in 1999). Now, under full load, there is some soot development .
I also replaced the turbo this year. Would changing the compressor wheel on the turbocharger reduce or minimize soot? Or would I need to adjust other things, such as the boost pressure sensor, etc.?
Thank you in advance .

Hi,
"Who convinced you to install that upgraded intercooler? It's nonsense for that vehicle and engine... I would first investigate why it's smoking. It could be a leak in the intake system, a faulty fuel injection timing system, or bad tuning. All of these need to be checked."
Best regards, Rainer.

I convinced myself to buy the upgraded intercooler because the old one was broken.
He gets more air from the side from me, due to a different front bumper.
I replaced the hoses after I replaced the turbo.
Would a different impeller solve the problem?

No. That's complete nonsense, as the necessary software modification would exceed the vehicle's residual value.
Assuming nothing else is broken or leaking, you've simply had a really bad modification done to your car. Touran 5T1 / DFGA / TGV; Fabia 6Y5 / BNV / GGV

Well, I've already put about 12,000 euros into my Golf.
That would be a minor detail .

Okay... the LLK doesn't hurt.
Is the new charger a new original part that is also compatible with this engine?
Then switch the software back to the original version and make sure there are no errors.
are available in the system.
Then, customization (but not a DIY kit).
Are the nozzles still the original ones? Touran 5T1 / DFGA / TGV; Fabia 6Y5 / BNV / GGV

"Lader" is an original part from "jop".
The turbocharger air intake system is sealed, and all components have been replaced.
Well, soldering components is not really my thing.
It only produces soot when running at full load, otherwise not.
I don't know about nozzles.
To my knowledge, they were never renewed.

Then, I would use the VCDS diagnostic system to check what the target boost pressure is set to and whether it is being achieved.

I know, at least according to the boost gauge in the car, that it achieves 1.6 bar under full load .

Okay, then it's the tuner's job to fix the smoking issue, because at 1.6 bar of boost, there shouldn't be any smoking.
