ESP Adjustment: 1.6 TDI Guide

Hello,
I had the timing belt replaced on my 2012 Caddy III 1.6 TDI. It seems to be running okay so far, but the cold start isn't perfect. I'd like to properly align the ESP and camshaft, but I can't click on the 08 measurement blocks or 04 basic settings in the 01 engine control unit using VCDS; they are displayed in a light gray color. Is there another way to do this? Or is it read and adjusted completely differently?

To adjust the timing of the NW and CR-P pumps:

You need to adjust them correctly mechanically, by following the proper procedure when replacing the belt.
With VCDS, there's no need for adjustment, and it's also not necessary if the belt has been replaced correctly.

To put it very simply:
- Securing the main shaft, the water pump hub, and the CRP hub.
- Loosen the pulleys of the NW (narrow-width) and CRP (central rib) belts.
- proper belt tensioning.
- Reattach the pulleys, ensuring they are tightened to the specified torque.

For most newer CR engines, you can only read the extended diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs); the standard/older DTCs are no longer available.

Simply check the boxes next to the channels you want to read/log.

Thank you, Mpire , it seems like something might be misaligned.
It only becomes noticeable during cold starts; once the engine is slightly warm, it starts perfectly fine.
