Heater Not Starting? Troubleshooting Date Issues.

Skoda Yeti TDI, 150 horsepower, year 2017.

The auxiliary heater is not starting.
I used VCDS to read the error code.
I've noticed that the date is incorrect (2045.14.31).
The temperature is the same.
It was -1 degree Celsius, but the record shows 15 degrees.
The day of the week is no longer displayed correctly in the MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) interface.

I'm attaching the complete scan from yesterday (without any errors).
and the PDF error memory from the control unit "auxiliary heater".
I didn't want to do a complete scan again, as everything else is unchanged from yesterday.

I have seen incorrect date or time information in the environmental conditions more than once in various control units. However, I cannot tell you whether the data is being stored incorrectly or whether it is being misinterpreted.

Should the auxiliary heater be explicitly activated (using the clock/manual controls), or was it an automatic start by the auxiliary heater due to cold coolant?

It was a deliberate start using the button in the center console. This morning, I approached the car and the windows were frosted. It started briefly as usual, with a slight smell, then turned off again after a maximum of 1 minute. Later, while driving, I pressed the button again, and the indicator light on the button immediately went out after I released it.

"Yes, that's a shame. Then the auxiliary heater should actually indicate where the problem lies... for example, flame failure, failure to ignite, or low battery voltage, etc."

I'm not entirely clear yet about the conditions under which the SHZ (presumably a piece of equipment) fails to start.

Is the SHZ (auxiliary heating unit) factory-installed or an add-on?

2. In what operating state does it not function? Specifically, I'm asking whether the engine is running or not.

3. Is the SHZ locked? If so, it must be unlocked before further tests can be performed.


I would disregard the incorrect date for now.

1. was pre-installed from the factory.
2. I tried it once before starting the engine, and once after the engine had been running for a few minutes.
3. Nope...

In short, I searched for and found the FFB (presumably a specific button or interface), pressed the "Start" button on it, and it's working!
Läuft (startet) jetzt auch auf Knopfdruck in der Mittelkonsole. Everything is normal.

I suspect that the initial attempts to start the engine after an 8-month break failed because the diesel fuel line might have been empty.

Certainly not, otherwise many people would have this problem. Fortunately, the SHZ is working again. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Just a quick tip on the side.
The auxiliary heater should also be used once in the summer.
Started monthly.
The fan in the heating system tends to get stuck if it's not used for a long time.
Then it usually smokes because there isn't enough air supply.
