Delete Errors Individually: A Step-by-Step Guide

I've had my Microcan VCDS for almost 10 years, and today I'd like to know why I can't clear multiple errors at once. After removing the A-panel from my Passat and turning on the ignition, several errors appeared. I had to clear each one individually.
When I try to clear all errors at once, I get this message in VCDS.

"A professional interface is required for this function!"

It surely can't be the case that such a "simple" function is not included in a diagnostic system that cost (at the time) 260 euros.
Is this a matter of personal preference, a bug, or is it actually intended to work this way?

This function is not working because you opted for a hobbyist version of the diagnostic systems 10 years ago.

The hobby version is intended for hobby use and not for workshop operations. That's why it was about a hundred euros cheaper.
