Hello everyone,
"Since my engine occasionally stalls, first exhibiting symptoms like rough idling and unexpected acceleration during downshifts, and because the ESP system is throwing various error codes, I want to replace both the timing belt and the ESP unit completely (mostly due to issues with the variable valve timing). However, I wouldn't have thought that a misadjustment could cause the engine to stall while it's already running. I myself drove for 3,000 km with a completely faulty pump."
Just to mention, the previous owner had already replaced the mass airflow sensor with a different one and adjusted it manually. Also, all the cables coming from the wiring harness were cut and reconnected using crimp connectors. I've never seen anything like that before. Apparently, he drove the car for 60,000 km with those issues. It's amazing that it even ran. While driving, you almost don't notice the shoddy workmanship. Since it suddenly stopped working, I have to replace everything completely now. I got a refurbished one from KS Turbo.
I've done some research here and have two more questions.
"The VP37 is an electronic component. Do I need a dial gauge for installation, or can I simply transfer the old toothed wheel from the other defective pump and connect it? Basically, just screw the pump centrally into the elongated holes. Place the toothed wheel onto the pump. Finally, rotate the pump's wheel clockwise until the locking pin fits in? Then put on the timing belt, check if everything aligns correctly, and the engine will definitely start 100%? If that's the case, I don't need the dial gauge anyway, because I can adjust/monitor the rest dynamically using VCDS?"
2.: How do I bleed the pump, as it will be empty? Do I need a separate vacuum pump for this, or can I simply suck on it somewhere (polish with my mouth

)?
