Hello,
I replaced the original air filter housing on my TDI with a carbon airbox (with an integrated filter). However, the airbox doesn't have a fitting for the crankcase ventilation hose.
Does it have any (negative) consequences if the hose is now hanging freely?
It would be great if someone could explain that to me!
Best regards, St.

There was a discussion about that before.
In short:
-You will lose your certification, with all the legal consequences that entails (the exhaust gases contain a high level of pollutants).
-You're messing up the engine compartment.
-Whether the valve guides need oil is a matter of debate. Gruß Christian

But the hose is attached to the top of the original air filter housing, *after* the air has been filtered, so there shouldn't be any pollutants or anything else in it, right?
