Hello Forum
I have a problem with my Seat Altea Freetrack, 2.0 Diesel, 125 kW.
The vehicle has now reached 250,000 km and has always been a loyal companion to me.
Now, unfortunately, the warning light on the display sometimes comes on, and the motor stops working. I have to pull over to the right, turn off the motor. After restarting the motor, the light is off and the power is back. Otherwise, no other lamp in the display will turn on.
Reading the error code revealed the following: P0299 Turbocharger Boost Control System - Requested Boost Below Actual Boost.
The subsequent visual inspection in the workshop revealed no abnormalities. Otherwise, I received the answer that troubleshooting would likely be time-consuming and expensive.
As I have read here and elsewhere, it seems that this issue occurs occasionally, although it can have various causes.
I am a complete beginner and therefore rely on an experienced workshop. That's why my question: Does anyone in the St. Gallen Rheintal / Vorarlberg area have a recommendation for a workshop that is familiar with this particular problem?
Thank you for your feedback.

Hello,
Quote:
P0299: Charge Pressure Control - Control Limit Undershot
speaks about insufficient boost pressure. Please check if the target loading pressure can be adjusted under load.
If you're lucky, the LLK or one of the air hoses will be leaking there. You'll hear the hissing sounds when you're driving with a load along a wall. Oily spots on the air intake hoses or on the LLK (air filter housing) will indicate the leak.
If the AGR doesn't close properly or the VTG from the loader gets stuck, then...
First, start a leak investigation.
Best regards, Rainer

Good evening, Rainer
Thank you for your feedback.
Can you recommend a workshop that is familiar with this specific issue? Best places to visit in the Rhine Valley or Vorarlberg?
I am a beginner and rely on the help of others.
Best regards

It shouldn't be too difficult to occasionally check the air intake system and the LLK (Low-Pressure Lubrication System) for oily spots. Leaks in the LLK/hoses are common at high mileage. Would advise you to get recommendations from your acquaintances and choose the workshop that best suits your target audience.
Also, your loader is probably controlled by vacuum, so check if the vacuum system is sealed and if there are any other membranes in a control lever that are torn. AGR coolers or flow control valves.
DPF could also be clogged if many short trips had been driven, which would have resulted in high fuel consumption:

For more detailed information, I need an auto-scan.
Check the forum for P0299.
Best regards, Rainer

Hi Rainer
Thank you for the response.
For the car scan, you need a VCDS device, which I sell.
Is the V2 the entry-level version, which would probably be sufficient for someone like me who is a beginner?
Greetings
Marco

Hello,
Have you checked the points I mentioned?
To inspect the air intake hoses and the air filter housing, a lift platform would be very useful.
The valve for the locking mechanism, if present, should normally be accessible via the hood.
Best regards, Rainer

Hi Rainer
Since I don't have a lift, I couldn't check the LLK. The car will now go to the garage tomorrow. I will get back to you when I have more information.
Greetings
Marco

Hi Rainer
Here is the promised feedback.
Finally, the turbo was replaced by a revised one.
It could not be precisely determined whether the problem was due to the turbo itself or the boost control system.
The car is now running without any issues.
Thank you for your help.
Greetings
