Hello, I replaced the potentiometer for the intake manifold flaps on my Golf 5, 1.4 TSI, BLG engine.
ERWIN VW states that after the replacement, the learned values should be erased and the engine control unit should be reprogrammed.
Is this path available in VCDS as well?

Hi,

Autoscan is missing... I would say, based on my gut feeling, that the adaptation channels from the engine control unit should be checked.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,

On the Golf 5 1.4 TSI BLG, the intake manifold flap potentiometer is G336.

After replacing it, the learned values need to be reset and the intake manifold flap system adapted.

VCDS may be able to perform this through 01-Engine → Basic Settings, depending on the ECU software version.

However, VCDS cannot flash or reprogram the ECU firmware. If Erwin (siehe Fehlerdatenbank) specifically requires a software update, ODIS or another compatible programming tool is needed.

Could you post the ECU part number and software version from your VCDS Auto-Scan? That would help identify the correct adaptation procedure.
