Permanently disable WFS

Hello everyone.
Vehicle Ibiza 6L 1.9 TDI engine ASZ 280,000 km, manufactured in 2003.

The WFS sometimes has minor issues (the key blinks, and it's not possible to start). That's why I successfully resoldered all the solder joints in the instrument cluster about 8 years ago.
Now, the WFS occasionally starts blinking again.
To save time, I would now disable the WFS.
There are devices available, often called "immo off boxes," for around €30 that can bypass the immobilizer system for the EDC15 engine control unit.

Does this work, or is it more likely to cause problems?

I was able to easily disable the immobilizer with a €25 immo box .
