Hello.
Can a CAN<->USB interface be permanently connected to the vehicle?
I can imagine that not all ECUs would go into a sleep mode, and the battery could drain quickly as a result.
I'm envisioning a conveniently accessible USB port in the center console – instead of having to awkwardly maneuver that bulky OBD connector over the footwell trim.
Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English. I will only provide the translation. Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.
I don't know what the f*ck it was.

If no data is flowing from the PC through the interface, it should not have any influence on whether or how quickly the control units go into sleep mode.
However: The interface draws power from pin 16, which is connected to terminal 30. Therefore, as long as it remains plugged in, it will draw current. A few hours or even overnight is not a problem, but if left plugged in for too long, it could drain the battery.
If you really want to connect it permanently, it might be a good idea to modify the power supply to use terminal 15. I would create a second OBD socket that is electrically connected in parallel with the original socket (except for the power supply).

Hi,
I once had a permanent USB cable running into the interior of the car. The connectors weren't plugged in by default, so whenever I wanted to read out some data, I would simply open the hood and plug in the connectors.
Best regards.
