I have purchased a new laptop and now want to install VAG COM on it and continue using my purchased license.

How do I do this? Can I reuse the code that was sent to me? I was told that this wouldn't be possible?

Can I update to a newer VAG version?

The activation code you have only works on one computer, and only once. To transfer your license to another computer:

* First, install and test the latest version on the new computer, and then copy the serial number.

* Then, on the old device, use the 'De-activate' button. This will generate a code, which serves as proof of deactivation. Please translate the following text from German to English. Provide ONLY the translation, no explanations.

* Recently, please send both numbers (your new serial number and the deactivation code) to your dealer, or enter them here:

Copy & Paste the text you want translated from German to English here. The NotePad program is your friend! http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/reg-upgrade.html

Well, that was quite a disaster!

The new version (402) simply doesn't work at all. Communication is impossible. I tested both the old notebook and the new one simultaneously with the same vehicle. The old notebook worked, but with the new one, it wasn't even possible to establish communication with the adapter (error message).

Apart from that, I couldn't establish a connection to the engine control unit of my girlfriend's Skoda Fabia; it said "Synchronization not possible."

Now I need to test everything again, including COM1, etc. But what do I do if I don't get a good job offer?

Greetings, Peter.

Okay:

Old Notebook: Olivetti P120, Windows 98.
New Notebook: Gericom PII 333, running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 and Internet Explorer 6.

Could it still be related to that?

Greetings, Peter.

Which 402? The 402 from Auto-Intern is only suitable for the intelligent (dongle) interfaces from Auto-Intern.

What kind of interface do you have? If your interface is from a VAG-COM dealer, you should use the latest version that the dealer recommends for your interface.

If your interface is from a third-party manufacturer, you should still ask the dealer where you purchased your license which version is the right one for you.

For all interfaces manufactured from approximately 2005 onwards, the VCDS license is embedded within the interface itself. Nothing needs to be transferred or disabled.

Easily install VCDS:
