Bosch's specifications for the nominal revolutions per minute of a VEP

I have a question regarding understanding.
Here are the specifications from Bosch for two VEPs:

VE= Distributor Injection Pump
5= Number of Cylinders
11 = Piston Diameter
E = Electronically controlled
1750 = Pump Speed
L = Left-hand rotating

AAT

VE5/11E2300L460-1

VE= Distributor Injection Pump
5= Number of Cylinders
11 = Piston Diameter
E = Electronically controlled
2300 = Pump Speed
L = Left-hand rotating

I am interested in what Bosch means with the specification of the "pump speed". The two examples are very similar VEPs, yet they have significantly different specifications for the pump speed. Since these are electronically controlled VEPs, it is unlikely that the specified range refers to the control range determined by the program in the engine control unit.
Does the pump speed provide any indication of mechanical construction differences?

this already works, the pump does spin after all at half engine speed.
