Hi, I've read a lot of posts about the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) from Pierburg, but I haven't found anything specific. Would the one from DC fit in an A4? Because mine is really broken, and Büchl or RAR don't have any in stock either. eBay is too risky for me (with MAF sensors). A new one costs around 270-300€. That's too expensive. Cleaning it didn't help. But I was told that the ones from the V6 TDI also fit and only measure about 10% more airflow. That shouldn't be a problem if everything else works. You just shouldn't give it full throttle in fifth gear at 1200 RPM .
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello.
If, as you write, this is supposed to be for an AFN engine, then it must fit.
I recently bought a DC unit and installed it in my Passat (AFN).
After a minor adjustment to the connector (a slightly different locking mechanism), everything is working properly again, and the car is pulling normally.
Bestl No. A 6110940048 from a friendly DC dealer, price: 72? including.
Regards,
Rafael.

Okay, I just placed the order. I'll let you know if everything works out. And regarding the locking mechanism, it shouldn't be a problem for a skilled tradesperson.

Hello.
I still don't quite understand it.
I have the old Pierburg unit "as a whole piece," meaning it's not the type with a small insert that can be removed. The VAG part number is 074 906 461.
The new LMMs for the VP-TDIs probably have the VAG part number 028906461.
Can only these be replaced with the DC components?
Does DC only provide the small insert, about the size of a thumb, which is secured with Torx screws, or do they provide the entire tube including the insert?
. . . so that the tube can ultimately be replaced "in one piece" with a Pierburg unit . Gruß Ulf

Hello, at DC, there's only the small "insert". If you want to replace it with your "complete" LMM, you could ask your local dealer for a defective LMM. Then, you can take the "tube" from that and install the DC LMM! Gruss Ralf

...with the small but significant drawback that the connector then no longer fits. The old Pierburg unit, which is a single piece, has a completely different connector than the one available from DC for installation in the pipe.

Andy.
