Hello.
My keys are lost, and I've gotten new ones, but they need to be programmed. The workshop is 40 km away, and I don't want to have the car towed.
'By chance, I noticed that as long as there's voltage applied to terminal 50, the motor runs. My question is: will anything break if I drive about 40 km with the starter terminal 50 disconnected?'

Hello,
"If you've lost all the keys, including the spare, I'm surprised that you were able to get new keys from a VAG workshop without showing them the vehicle (which is VAG's standard identification procedure). Because if that were the case, your car would have already been at the workshop for reprogramming."
If you happen to have a spare key, please post the model year and the engine code (MKB). Then you might be able to do it yourself.
PS: Which workshop did you go to? Tschüss

Hello.
EZ 99, engine code AEY. I'm currently on vacation in Sweden, and my keys were stolen. I ordered the car from VAG, and the keys were sent to me by mail. I have a spare key at home, but I can't have it sent to me.
Finally, why does the car start and run for as long as the starter motor is engaged?

hi!
I'm probably doing you a disservice here, but to be honest: isn't it a rather "strange" story, don't you think?
Who has internet access while on vacation and then bothers to ask questions in a forum and question some strange workarounds and encryptions, when the spare key is at home and could be sent?
Sorry!

Hi breyelmann01.
Yes, you are wrong. I know nothing about '!urla_b!' on the internet, and I don't know why a link appeared under '!urla_b!'. You need to ask a moderator.
I'm posting in this forum because I've been reading it for a long time and it has often been helpful to me. Thank you.
What's so strange about the fact that I held the key in the start position for a little longer and was surprised that the engine started?
Best regards.
PS.
1. I need to code, program, or modify the new key (whatever that's called), otherwise it won't start .
2. These (as you write) some strange connections, I can briefly explain: The starter is connected to terminal 50, and with the car key, you supply power to terminal 50.

Hi,
@yacek4: I think Brezelmann was surprised that you were visiting the forum while on vacation (the link is part of the integrated advertisement) and found your story strange because of that.
"@Brezelmann: If I were to encounter an unfamiliar problem while abroad, I would also go to the nearest internet cafe and seek help in a forum. That's much safer and faster than trying to explain very specific problems in a foreign language. Therefore, I'm not surprised by this."
Best regards,
Jan, who may not be able to offer any substantive input on this matter, but perhaps could help clarify any misunderstandings. 1Z5 CFHF / AHB H4D
