Dear Reader,
Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the common problem where the microswitch in the door lock on the driver's side of my Golf IV is defective. Specifically, a contact within the connector is corroded. This seems to be a VW-specific issue; I've heard about it multiple times before. I don't want to buy a completely new lock from VW for 52 euros just for that small microswitch. It appears that the manufacturer even intended for the microswitch to be replaced.
Therefore, the questions are:
Where can one find a microswitch that is exactly the right fit?
Which company manufactures the locks for Volkswagen?
Thank you very much.

Sure, here's the translation:
'Hi there,' or 'Hello.'
'I had a similar problem with my Passat. I assume the door locks are the same. Inside the combined door lock/central locking actuator, there are three microswitches of the same type that are soldered onto a small, narrow circuit board. In my case, some moisture had entered and lifted the solder joints. I simply traced the traces with insulated solid wire and directly soldered them to the contacts of the switches (a bypass). After that, everything was fine again, and it only cost me a few cents in materials. It was very pleasant, especially since the dealership wanted almost 1000 DM for the repair, including the CAN control unit for the central locking in the door, the actuator, and labor.'
However, removing the lock from the Passat is also difficult, and you have to almost completely disassemble the plastic housing with the electrical component attached to the lock. You should definitely have some 'DIY' skills and patience, but the result will be worth it.
The lock is in two parts; the switches are located inside a closed plastic box to which the cables run, and this box can be detached from the main lock assembly. This box then needs to be opened, and after removing the drive mechanism, the circuit board installed from above can be removed. It's best to do this on a large work surface.
Good luck with your crafting!
Best regards from Kiel.

Unfortunately, I have a Golf IV without central locking.
The lock only has a microswitch for the light, and it's completely broken.
-Thank you.
