Hello,
'On my Alhambra TDI PD 115 hp AUY model, manufactured in 2001 and with 55,000 km mileage, and which has not been modified, I have noticed a loss of power.'
Here's how acceleration in 3rd gear works:
1000-1500, as before, I think.
Between 1500 and 1850, the performance was more restrained, but you could still feel the powerful engine kicking in – although it felt somewhat less responsive than before the power loss.
1850-2200: Good airflow - then likely a reduction in fuel injection, resulting in only moderate acceleration up to 3500 RPM, and almost no acceleration beyond that.
Maximum speed after approximately 1.5 km - with the engine running at 3500 RPM, the speed was only 145 km/h (previously around 180 km/h).
My current suspicion was a faulty pressure sensor, a disconnected hose, or a broken magnetic switch - but everything seems to be working, so it's probably the mass airflow sensor (MAF).
Unfortunately, I don't have an adapter yet to use VAG-Com - my notebook only has USB icon_sad.gif.
Since a faulty MAF sensor can only be suspected, I decided to try the relatively inexpensive one from DC (because you apparently need a new one eventually anyway).
Does anyone have any other ideas about what the problem might be?
Which DC LMM can I use for the AUY?
Thank you very much!
Greetings,
Happy-Phantom.

a postscript,
an addition,
a follow-up.
Could it be due to sludge in the intake manifold, possibly caused by the EGR system (which I have now disabled)? The car is only 55,000 km old, but I did use biodiesel for a while (about 10 times).

Hello,

Take a look at this.

http://www.passatplus.de/download/LMM.htm

I found this list randomly, hopefully it helps.

Please provide the translation result.

Greetings.

Faxes.

The list is great - thank you very much!

I will check the LMM number tomorrow - it's raining right now icon_sad.gif.

See you later.

Okay, my mass airflow sensor (MAF) has the part number: F00C 2G2 056. According to the list, there is a compatible MAF sensor from DC for my car.
Once I have tested this, I will provide a review icon_smile.gif.

Here's another question: If, as described above, the car's top speed is 145 km/h, and it doesn't really accelerate anymore after 3500 RPM, or 3000 RPM in the higher gears, could that be due to a lack of air, for example, caused by clogged intake passages (as I already asked)? Or could that also be a symptom of a faulty mass airflow sensor (MAF)?
Before I remove the exhaust manifold to take a look, I wanted to check first whether the symptoms actually indicate fouling. By the way, it's not producing any black smoke.

Greetings,
Happy-Phantom.

Hello,
Finally, I managed to install a DC mass airflow sensor (part number: A 611 094 00 4icon_cool.gif.

Experience report on the topic:
'DC's LMM: A problem solver for all walks of life?'

Definitely, the car is running great again, just like Schmidt's cat icon_smile.gif.

Hello,
