HI.

I have successfully built Ulf's circuit V2.4 onto a PCB, following the instructions from kfh.

Now, I'm only left with the problem of fine-tuning the alignment.

According to a technical article, all potentiometers should be turned to their maximum or minimum values.

Set all trimmers to their maximum setting. In the VAGCOM LED test, LEDs 1 to 3 must blink sequentially - sometimes individually.
partially overlapping.

Which attack? Left or right?
If I turn the potentiometers all the way (either left or right), nothing happens at all.

Only the LEDs for the 'center' position are blinking.

And I still don't quite understand that.

In operation, determine the STG (System Test Generator) with the highest measurement block sampling rate. Determine the adjustment ranges for VR 2 and 3 where communication is still stable. Adjust both trimmers to the middle of their respective green ranges, and if necessary, adjust VR1 visually as well, like VR 2.

How do I determine the STG (Signal Processing Unit) with the highest measurement block sampling rate?

Best regards,

McBo

Hi.

It depends on the layout and whether you're looking from the bottom or the top.
Turn VR1 until LED 1 flashes, turn VR2 until LED 2 flashes, and turn VR3 until LED 3 flashes.

Open all STGe devices, select a measurement block (not 000), then a decimal number in the range of 2 or 3 will appear at the top of the screen -> this indicates the sampling rate.

Choose the STG with the highest number.

Okay, I tried to reconcile the accounts.

Please provide the text you would like me to translate from German to English. I will only provide the translation, without any explanations.

LWR, ABS, ZV

I think it might still be due to the laptop's weak COM port.
I ordered a USB-to-serial adapter with an FTDI chip - let's see how it works.

I tried the calibration using the TestOK software.

Die Baudrate habe ich auf 57600 eingestellt bekommen. Is that okay?

Connect a measuring device between the L-line and the vehicle-side adapter supply. There should be no measurable voltage at that point.

What does that mean? The vehicle mass, or 12+?

Check the box for 'Direct Setting - L-Line' -> This will switch the PC from the negative to the positive voltage range for RTS. The L-line must have a voltage less than 1 volt relative to ground. If necessary, adjust the corresponding trimmers. Then, disable the L-line again.

Are 0.6V okay?

Best regards,

Marcel.

Okay, I've now adjusted everything as best as possible.

I still can't access all the 'StG's.

The engine control unit (ECU) sometimes works, but the control unit for the instrument cluster doesn't work at all.

I set the initial baud rate to 9600, otherwise the motor control unit won't work.

I have also already modified the KW2 delay and BLK INT settings, but unfortunately, without success.

My laptop is a P233 MMX with 96MB of RAM and Windows 2000.

W2K runs quite smoothly on that device. icon_razz.gif

What else could be the reason?

Okay, the test vehicle is a 1999 Passat 3B 1.8T, unfortunately not a diesel icon_rolleyes.gif.

Best regards,

McBo
