Hello!

I recently had my A4 (V6 TDI, 110kW AFB) serviced, although I believe it was just an oil change - I need to double-check.

I noticed some strange things on the bill.

a) A total of 6 light bulbs were charged to my account... and I wasn't aware of any issues with any of them, and they all have different descriptions... which is very strange.

b) Four 'spark plugs' were calculated... which is strange, as it's a 6-cylinder engine... (the engine has approximately 60,000 km on it), and why only 4 and not all 6?

I'll definitely talk to the workshop about it... but maybe someone else here has an idea what it could be.

Regards,
Felix.

Spark plugs, that could be it.

Larger diesel engines often have a separate small gasoline engine as a starter. So, it appears to be a 4-cylinder engine. To be a starter motor. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Could you please provide the part numbers for the lamps and 'spark' plugs?

Perhaps the heating elements of the glow plug system/coolant preheating system?

I also find the lamps unusual.

Okay, two license plate lights (most people won't notice), maybe two more brake lights (who's behind the car when it's braking?), and two interior lights (for the trunk)?

Well, it's strange, isn't it? Does he not have a check-up package?

Hi.

That's because, from a workshop perspective, we all have no idea, and therefore we should believe everything the friendly service people tell us.

A friend of mine once asked me if it was possible for her headlights to stop working after only 2 days, even though they had replaced all the bulbs during a service just before that.

She basically said that it's ridiculous that something like that would break so easily and without any warning. I then explained to her that it's a very expensive add-on if the car sends her an email *before* a defect occurs. She understood then that it was too expensive for her.

Enough nonsense: In the simplest case, it's a mix-up of order forms; otherwise, it's fraud!

Make sure that the invoice includes all the work that was actually supposed to be done. Theoretically, there's a possibility that the order was actually mixed up, and your original order might end up being more expensive than this one.

However, I would recommend that you pay the correct bill, at least out of a sense of honor.
