Hello.

The rubber-to-metal bushings on the rear axle of my Volkswagen Golf 4 need to be replaced soon.
will be (known creaking problem).
Regarding this matter, I would also like to have a rattling noise on the front axle investigated and resolved.
This rattling noise occurs almost exclusively when driving at low speeds.
and is particularly noticeable with fully locked steering wheels (e.g., when driving over a curb).
Furthermore, I've recently had the impression that every imperfection in the road surface...
'...which is directly transferred to the pedals, and the handling feels somewhat unstable in corners.'
The shock absorbers seem to be okay so far.

Do you have any ideas about what else still needs to be exchanged?

Sure, no problem.

(Or: You're welcome.)

JL

Hi,

It might be a good idea to replace the dome bearings – it's not a big or expensive job...

Regards,

Check the two rubber bushings on the stabilizer bar. The older bushings were installed with clamps without a locking mechanism and are a weak point. The newer ones (replacement parts) have a locking mechanism and hold better. Inspect them while the vehicle is lifted, with the wheels loaded, and the stabilizer bar in its "working" position.

If none of that was the problem, and you're still unsure what's causing it, check the outer tie rod ends.
