Hi, I might be able to get a bumper with original parking sensors for my A3 at a good price. However, it doesn't include the control unit. I would only be able to get one from an A4/A6. Technically, it should fit, but do the control units have vehicle-specific settings? Is it possible to reprogram them?

The code consists of 5 digits.

1. Status: No significance 0
2. Setting: Manual gear = 0, Automatic gear = 1.
3. State: 0 if no functional acknowledgment, 1 if functional acknowledgment.
4th place: Limousine 0, Avant 1.
5th position: A3 = 3, A4 = 4, A6 = 6, A8 = 8.

The "beep" sound you hear when shifting into reverse is the confirmation of the reverse gear engagement.
