Unfortunately, I absentmindedly forgot to remove the screw from the hose!

Now the car is at the dealer's and is scheduled to have a new timing belt installed tomorrow.

It was so last-minute and stressful because my serpentine belt tensioner just broke, and I had to leave the car there!

Since the timing belt needs to be replaced anyway, they should take care of that at the same time!

Does the EGR system have any influence on the adjustment of the injection timing?

Regards,

Manuel.

No - at most, it's reflected in the bill if you (unrequested) search for the fault in the EGR system and only then find it after a usually long search, or if you install some unnecessary new parts icon_twisted.gif.

Why should someone look for a fault in the EGR system?

I thought the screw in the valve wouldn't be detected by the error memory.

Regards,

Manuel.

Hi Manuel,

Perhaps it already works, depending on the software version (but I'm not entirely sure).

However, if they were to record measurement data blocks, they might notice a significant discrepancy between the desired and actual air mass values.
And what is most likely to be replaced when there are incorrect air mass readings? The mass airflow sensor (MAF), the usual suspect for anything that's not working correctly...

I don't really have to worry about any of the first AFN events in the A4 class!

After a long search, I finally found a competent workshop. They don't install anything without my consent!

Great service, and all at a very affordable price!

Well, if I think about paying the bill next Friday!

Timing belt replacement + ribbed belt tensioner + alternator (fortunately, I brought one, I just need to transfer the freewheel pulley from the old one to the new one) + possibly a crankshaft seal.

I'm going to have to work on that for quite a while.

Regards,

Manuel.
