Hello there.
I have tried to reset the service indicator on my Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDI with engine code AAT, manufactured in 1995, but the instrument cluster doesn't accept it. I can see the values, but I cannot change them.
I have already read that there are supposed to be problems with this combination instrument, and I have also tried the solutions suggested on VAG-COM without success.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
It would be really great if you could turn that blinking off; it's quite annoying.

Hi!
What have you tried?
Have you ever tried using a LOGIN code?
See the TDI database!

I tried the troubleshooting steps that were listed on auto-intern under 'VAG-COM.'
To my knowledge, a login is not required for service recalls. That's what I've read so far, and in the database, I only found the login information for speedometer adjustments.
Or am I wrong ?

No, you're right! You can find the necessary steps here in the forum as well! Maybe that will help!

In my Passat 3BG, it doesn't work as described! I have to manually enter the same value for each channel (oil and service), either based on mileage or service interval time, even though it's already set, and then it works! Maybe this will help you too! A true masterpiece of German engineering!!!!

If I enter the same value, the display remains on because the values are now zero.
But wait, I just remembered something. When I use a VAG diagnostic tool, if I'm connected to the control unit and try to change a value, the program attempts to re-establish the connection to the control unit at that moment.

I need to fit a 15, a 30, or a 365 in there!

I tried to enter the value '15' for 15,000 km on channel 05 for the oil change, but it didn't work. Furthermore, I tried to enter the value '36' for 360 days on channel 07 for inspection 1, also without success. It doesn't work with any other value either.

Passat? - Having problems with the service interval reset? - That sounds familiar somehow...

Whoever can use the search function is a king .
It's an Audi, but it seems like you're having a similar problem – I wouldn't be surprised if it's exactly the same issue. Gruß Bertil

I know those threads! But what you said about the channels isn't correct, and I also know about the 'set' button! But it's too simple! If it were contact problems, then adjusting things through the channels wouldn't work, would it?
Okay, but that Audi is definitely likely to suffer from this problem!
