It's possible that the two engines have different gearboxes or axle ratios, since the AHF reaches its rated power at 4000 rpm and the ASV reaches its at 4150 rpm.

I suspect there might be an issue because the 'long' 5th gear (part number as discussed in this forum) isn't 'very long' in my case... (I have an ASV). (Arne also mentioned this here in the forum before (he also has an ASV)).

Regards,
Benjamin.

Hi,

The ASV also reaches its maximum power at 4000 RPM, while the AFN achieves it at 4150 RPM.

Hi,

*grin*

By the way, the 4000 figure for the ASV also comes from the documentation and matches the information in the Polo self-help book. Some Seat websites also list 4150. However, they don't differentiate between production years, because at some point, the Ibiza transitioned from the AFN to the ASV engine.

AHF and AFN therefore seem to be more similar to each other than they are to ASV.

Best regards,

I drive a Skoda Octavia MJ 2001 with an ASV engine, and I just couldn't believe my eyes. Both the owner's manual and every Skoda brochure state that it has 81 kW/110 hp at 4150/min. I had always been convinced of that. However, the vehicle registration document states a different value at 4000/min. icon_eek.gif

Hi,

I've even found similar things on tuning websites myself... I think many people who write these things don't realize that a "TDI 110 hp" engine isn't just a "TDI 110 hp" engine, but that there are different subtypes that are more or less similar.

By the way, the same applies to the 90 hp engine... the older 1Z and AGR engines, and another engine code if I remember correctly, have a redline of 4000 rpm, while the newer ALH engine has a redline of 3750 rpm.

Best regards,

Jan.

Okay, the 1Z engine has 66 kW at 4,000 RPM.

Best regards, WarLord.
