Hello everyone icon_smile.gif.

I registered on the forum beforehand because I also have a few questions.
So far, I have only ever read icon_biggrin.gif.
This is a really great website, big praise icon_biggrin.gif.

Okay, I have a Volkswagen Golf 3, manufactured in November 1994, with engine code 1Z.
and I would like to know how that works with the boost pressure increase icon_question.gif.
1. My turbocharger uses a P2 control system (pressure control), or does it already use the 'setpoint comparison' method in the control unit? icon_question.gif
2. What turbocharger is installed (Garrett or KKK), and where can I find that information? icon_question.gif
3. How can I slightly increase the boost pressure icon_question.gif?
4. I'm currently installing a boost gauge, what pressure is normal icon_question.gif?
5. I am very interested in a steam engine, where can I read more about it? (how can one realize something like that icon_question.gif?

Okay, that's all for now, this is just the first part. I would appreciate any responses icon_smile.gif.

Best regards,
Andy

Hi,

1. Regulation and control of the wastegate via pressure.
See https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=3101.

2. No idea. icon_cool.gif It should be on the charger, though.

Regarding point 3, please see the last part in https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=3208.
It's obviously not designed for your engine, but if you understand the principle, it shouldn't be a problem for you to increase the boost pressure.
Of course, this is pointless without simultaneously increasing the fuel injection amount.

regarding item 4 https://community.dieselschrauber.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=3128

"Regarding point 5: Standard gasoline additives are not suitable for TDI engines because they do not affect the fuel injection quantity."
Just install a dual-stage switch that allows you to achieve different 10-cent tuning values and boost pressure increases depending on the switch position. It goes without saying that this will void the vehicle's operating permit (ABE) and make it illegal for use on public roads.

Best regards, Rainer.
