Hello everyone.
It hopefully will be a while before my fuel injectors need to be replaced, but I'm still curious about how to identify whether you're selling or having installed the correct TDI injectors, given the wide variety available.
The Bosch parts catalog lists the numbers clearly, but on the installed injectors, neither the AFN nor the ALH engines have any numbers visible anywhere – unlike the engine control unit, pump, or mass airflow sensor.
Are the part numbers located on the "recessed" part of the nozzles? Gruß Ulf

Hi, if you're referring to the nozzles, you'll only see the number if you remove them from the nozzle holder. This means you have to remove the nozzle holder and disassemble it.

Hi Ulf,
In my case, the nozzle number was visible all the way at the bottom of the nozzle holder. Normally, it's hidden by the cylinder head and the nozzle holders. To remove the nozzle holder completely, pull it out of the head.
You don't need to disassemble the injector body (or did I misunderstand Mucki?). After that, the injector will definitely be scrap! Gruß Bertil

Hello.
It's not worth disassembling the injector housing because you can't adjust the injectors yourself. Bosch has a central facility in Europe that handles this. I've found that Bosch's lists are quite accurate, especially since there are only a few different types of injectors for the VAD-TDI engines. I would try a reputable parts supplier and negotiate a good price.
The injectors seem to wear out relatively quickly in TDI engines - I heard that it's a good business for Bosch!
P.S. Make sure to use a hammer to securely tighten the injector line threads onto the nozzle - those things fit really tightly!
Best regards,
Jürgen

Hello,
There are two relevant model designations.
Specifically, on the injector holder itself, for example, for the 110hp TDI engine.
0 432 193 747 (3 units of this type, as it is not NBF).
0 432 193 745 (1 piece with NBF)
You can find this number on the housing itself.
The nozzle designation is located, among other places, on the nozzle shank. You don't need to disassemble the nozzle holder; just remove it and carefully clean off the black residue (using a fine wire brush). Then, three digits will become visible.
For the aforementioned type, it would then be 'P 520'.
The pressure can only be adjusted by Bosch.
PS: Es gibt sehr viele verschiedene Düsen mit unterschiedlichem Durchfluss. So, be careful.
best regards
