HELP...

I can no longer access my engine control unit. The ABS, combination instrument, etc., are not working.

What can one do...?

Best regards,
Mike

Hello again...

After the anger and the blows icon_twisted.gif on the dashboard, it works again. icon_question.gif Now I'm really wondering if I should buy a different car, or maybe even drive a Porsche on the sidewalk. icon_biggrin.gif

Have you ever experienced anything like this before?

..... grrr.....

Now it's not working again... icon_twisted.gif

I'm about to drive this car into the river.

After several attempts, I can sometimes access the control unit (STG), but then I can't anymore.

Has anyone experienced something similar? My VW dealer said the control unit (STG) is defective and needs to be replaced, but quickly, before the car breaks down?!

Best regards, Mike.

Hi Mike,

A few weeks ago, someone here already reported contact problems with the diagnostic connectors. You might be experiencing a similar issue.

No... I can rule that out, because all the other control units are working fine (ABS, airbag, etc.), only the engine control unit is malfunctioning.

The error occurred for the first time when liquid spilled onto my OBD interface, which then malfunctioned. Coincidentally, I was just inside the engine control unit at the time, performing a diagnostic test.

I've repaired the interface, but now I'm having a problem...

Best regards, Mike icon_redface.gif
