hello,
Thank you for the good tips... You really don't know Volvos inside and out... wait a minute, I think I have something ).
It looks like that *ggg*.
Why would it actually be more illogical for a warning light from Lambda to illuminate instead of the pre-glow light in case of a fault? )).
Okay, I experimented some more today. I took out the circuit and got out various resistors starting from 300 ohms, as well as a 4.7k potentiometer.
Poti and a 300 Ohm resistor in series (the lamp had gone out again...after two days), and lo and behold, at 300 Ohms, it vibrates a little when stationary. I can, however, turn it until the end... A short test drive... with 300 Ohms and the throttle slightly turned, and I have a great fog machine . The smoke cloud stayed there for about 2 minutes. I'll probably fix this setting with an extra switch.
I can test everything else again once the lamp is turned off. I think I can even leave the resistor in place when starting, as long as it's above 300 ohms.
I'll report on it... Gruss
Stefan

Hi,
The lambda light doesn't come on because a diesel engine doesn't have a lambda sensor, so what's the point of having a test light?
I hope you didn't take the picture yourself while also steering .
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
unter Netscape kann ich Deine Antowrt nicht sehen, da sie vom Bild abgedeckt war...sch....jetzt habe ich aus Versehen den Summs auch noch drei mal drin.... Sorry about that.
Unfortunately, I took the picture by myself (can you recognize the car in front of me???).
If not, I will get you another picture with better visibility . Gruss

Okay, something different... the translation seems quite reasonable for Volvo... it's only 4000 RPM at a displayed speed of 210. Or is the speedometer extremely inaccurate? Have you ever checked it?
Otherwise, it was really brave to do that with the photo... at that speed, I wouldn't let go of the steering wheel, let alone be fiddling with a camera...

Come by, you can take it for a drive. You really don't need anything else besides the cruise control. It handles incredibly well on the road. The instructor during the safety training showed how to sit and steer properly, but on the highway, you only need one finger. Given the precise and direct steering, anything else would be suicidal.
Give it a try and visit a Volvo dealer to test drive the new diesel model. You'll be impressed. Gruss

Please take a close look at the third picture, specifically at the speedometer .
I drove 50 kilometers to get there. I didn't want to go right. A Porsche behind me was tailgating me, and I moved to the right lane at the next opportunity... eventually, the Porsche overtook the car in front of me on the right. Everything happened without any consequences }. Gruss

I believe you about the cruise control; I'm familiar with that too, and the Ibiza also handles well at that speed. But still... you're not alone; there are plenty of other people on the road, and you simply don't know anything about their cars or driving skills. And if someone pulls out from the right, you might have to brake hard from 210 km/h within a fraction of a second, and in that situation, you need both hands on the steering wheel, regardless of what kind of car you're driving.
Sorry, I certainly don't want to lecture or criticize you, but there was a very thought-provoking post just yesterday in the polo forum about someone (a close friend of the poster) who tragically died in an accident that was completely unavoidable.
Best regards,

Hejoh,
You are absolutely right about that. Just don't give any negative examples .
It should only be used to (exaggeratedly) demonstrate how stable the car is, even at high speeds.
Of course, every car requires both hands when performing a full stop... just to reiterate this for all drivers.
Wishing you safe and accident-free journeys always. Gruss
