Passat 3BG Tail Light: Damaged? Parts Available.

Unfortunately, a kind person has damaged the rear right taillight on my Passat 3BG Variant from the outside. Everything else is working, but there's a larger hole (several centimeters) in the outer plastic cover, which I've temporarily covered with clear plastic wrap. I'm looking for a replacement - I suspect the taillight is only available as a complete unit? But do I also need to buy the lamp holder? Is there a cheaper option than duwrepair? They charge around 85-90 euros for it.
