I would like to know how to tune the old turbodiesel engine from the Audi 80 B3 with 59kW/80PS. Is there not much to gain with a chip, or? But I once heard that you can do something to the turbo. What exactly? And how many horsepower would that bring?

Hello,
Micha has already given you the correct link. These engines practically scream for tuning. With a few modifications, you can easily achieve 110 horsepower, and the engine can handle that consistently if you're not constantly driving at high speeds on the highway. With more extensive modifications and compromises in lifespan, you can achieve even more (140...). However, you should expect potential damage to the drivetrain

(drive shafts, transmission). My SB engine in a Golf 2 has 460,000 km on it, uses about 1.5 liters of oil every 7,500 km, and runs like a charm. I've been running at 110 horsepower for 550,000 km, but the transmission gave up. Because it was already too short, I've now installed one from an AFN.
Best regards, Uli.
