If that's true, that would be great! And I would get a new one for free!
Is that likely to make my fake account useless now?

It's true that they got cold feet at VAG. Read the article in Auto Bild; Mr. Pitschensrieder is playing it safe!

Hello everyone.
Can someone please post the content of the article here? When I click on the link, I only get Motor Talk and then nothing. I would also like to read it.

Sure, I have the same problem, but the small image in 'Motoren-Talk' won't load either, and I can't read anything.

Even after deducting all expenses, they still have a factor of 2 profit margin.
So, if someone buys it from him in the 4th year for half the price, they essentially get it for around the upkeep and ancillary costs.
He will also cover the cost of the installation and the extensive investigation required, but only if he has had all the oil changes and other maintenance done at a VAG dealership up to that point.
But it's definitely a positive sign.
Whether this news was the cause of the decline in Volkswagen stock prices -?
Ultimately, the main source of income is now missing.
But enough joking around:
I think that forums like this obviously create far more pressure than we all realize!
Extending the grace period is one thing, but admitting by tripling the discount that you've been overcharging your customers for years is quite something.
I suspect that something similar is about to happen with biodiesel.
Let's see.

With the new product liability law, the manufacturer now has to prove that they are not at fault. The approval for the new vehicles has been withdrawn, but there are still cars on the road that have an approval and are subject to product liability/warranty.
Let's see if anyone can still manage to get one over on VAG before the judge.
The biggest obstacle might be the new fee, because for a claim of 100 euros, it's hard to find a lawyer unless it's their own car, and even then, they might still offer some leniency after 5 years!

Hi,
My fuel pump is currently at 96,000 km and 22 months old, and it likely failed due to biodiesel. According to the workshop, it's a repair covered under warranty (see also 'Fuel for Biodiesel Haters').
Let's see what happens...
Greetings.
Eike.

Then you're in the 'UHU' category (under one hundred thousand kilometers).
and also, it's not even two years yet.
It would look different if it were 120,000 km and 3 years.
Lucky for you, only 40,000 kilometers more and you would have been out of luck!

That's exactly why VW withdrew the approval from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt - KBA) ... Gruß Bertil

Are you sure it's only for that reason? I think there might also be something related to the move d4 involved.
@all
For example, with Mercedes, you can order a biodiesel package for around 200 or 300 euros, which avoids the problems seen with VW. And especially not this back-and-forth. I'm just saying, but my supplier says no! Maybe VW will think about it too! Why does it work for others, but not here?

If someone tries to retroactively revoke this approval to January 1, 2002 (which was not possible), then that is very suspicious to me (because the new warranty regulations came into effect on that date).
I believe the D4/EU4 apology from VW is disingenuous, because, according to VW's previous terminology, an EU2 diesel car with BD is "as clean" as an EU3 car (those who believe that... ).
My dealer contacted me (on behalf of VW) and asked me not to use biodiesel (BD) with my AXR engine, contrary to the owner's manual!
"I'm sorry, but this doesn't sound like a discussion about pollutants to me... And it shouldn't matter to the manufacturer what pollutant levels a released vehicle has when it's in the field. This decision is acceptable for new vehicles." Gruß Bertil

'I learned some new details from that! If this applies retroactively to the Stichag case, then it's actually 100% clear why. So, they're just trying to completely evade responsibility! What a mess!'
What's next? Does the Passat's front axle lose its warranty coverage if it has been driven for more than 5,000 kilometers?
