Hello, mechanics, how can I diagnose the instrument panel display using VAG-COM, i.e. diagnose the individual instruments? As I said, I occasionally have problems with the speedometer. There should be something about actuator diagnosis that I can do. However, when I click on 'actuator diagnosis' in my German software, nothing happens! Do I have to log in first? Has anyone got a code for it? The 'allerwelts 1...' code doesn't seem to work here! |

Hi,
In Christels Ibi (2001) it is possible to make the needles dance with VAGCOM - if I remember correctly, via actuator diagnosis.
And for that, you apparently need the full version . . . does anything happen in terms of the control unit diagnosis, for example, with the engine? Gruß Ulf

yes, it works as Uwe says... then you can run each display through... set it to a specified value and compare it to the display... pixel test, gong test... check all control lights as in a disco... run all error messages.
Regarding the engine, the only thing I know for sure is that the engine will naturally shut down when the parking cover closes... well, and the various control valves that it tests, you can hear (Please correct me, I just clicked through without any understanding). |

No, the engine's test function from the control device should be blocked while the engine is running. Therefore, if you want to test the engine's components while the engine is running, you must turn off the ignition, but the engine should not be started. However, if you start a test sequence on an engine, you cannot repeat it until you have turned the ignition off and on again, and on some engines, you even have to start and turn off the engine again. This protects the fuel system, for example in gasoline engines, from too much fuel entering the cylinders.

My ALH also allows the gear test to run even when the motor is running. The sequence is the same as when the motor is stationary.
The only thing that's stupid is that AGR and VTG come *after* the test of the shut-off valve. That means the engine is then simply stopped. For example, the fuel injector adjuster can run beforehand and you can then easily follow it by listening to the noise...
'The programmer must have fallen asleep, because I also want to test the AGR and VTG. This is not possible if the engine is off. Simply operating the valves is not, in my opinion, a test of the control elements...'
btw: after testing the parking valve, the engine no longer starts. It can only be started after the parking valve test is disabled...
This instrument can also be tested in the normal way... of course, without logging in...
See you, Gremlin |

yes, for me it's like a gremlin, I can only confirm that, probably someone programmed it, but they only knew that a car has 4 wheels... |
